Howard's Way Weight Loss » Diabetes Sufferers

Diabetes Sufferers

If you are a ‘Type ll Diabetic’, that is ‘diet controlled’ or taking medication to control your Insulin levels AND you are significantly overweight, you have probably been told by your G.P. or consultant that “you need to lose weight!”

The "Howard’s Way" Programme is ideal for you. It will support you in getting your excess weight off in a predictable, manageable amount of time, make your doctor (and you) much happier, vastly reduce the effects of your diabetes and improve your long term prognosis. Using TFR should enable you to reduce your medication under medical supervision in a very short period of time.

Many will be able to  discontinue their medication completely. Many G.P.’s have referred Type ll diabetics to us at “Howard’s Way”.

FACTS:

1:    More recently there has been a major change in the way that diabetes experts look at and understand type        2 diabetes. It is now recognised that around 80% of all patients with Diabetes will die, many prematurely,        from Cardiovascular disease and, predominantly, Ischaemic Heart Disease.

2:    There is also a greatly increased risk of Stroke and Peripheral Vascular Disease.

3:    People with Type 2 diabetes who are obese could be reducing their life expectancy by up to eight years,            according to a recent study.

4:    Type ll Diabetes, if unchecked, will develop into type l Diabetes, making the condition chronic.

For people who are ‘Type l Diabetic’ (Insulin dependent), the situation is not so clear cut.

This is because strict and constant medical supervision is required. If your G.P is keen for you to lose the weight in a controlled way, and willing to give you that ‘extra’ monitoring that you would need, then you will be welcome on the “Howard’s Way” programme.

Decreasing your weight significantly will certainly reduce the ill effects of your Diabetes, and improve your long term prognosis.
