Firstly you need to examine WHAT you are paying for. Generally speaking, most people are eating snacks as well as regular meals each day. If you go out to work, a typical weekday for you might consist of this:

A lot more than you probably realised! Even if you eat less than this, you would have to eat a LOT LESS to bring the total figure down significantly.

Many of us (who are unhappy with our size), don’t eat 3 regular meals a day. Other people around us are amazed that we have a weight problem, after all, “we hardly eat anything”! When it suits us, we go along with this distortion of the facts because we find it a wonderful suit of armour!

No more having to defend the quantities and range of what we do eat, if we support others in whatever they want to believe, we can eat what we want IN SECRET without any hassle. Consequently, we end up believing our own propaganda!

The amount of Calories you eat each day (and NOTHING ELSE) determines whether you:

Don’t get enough! and have to take some from your fat store to make up the deficit, and therefore REDUCE your fat store (lose weight)!

Have approximately the amount your body needs, therefore leave your fat store intact and STAY THE SAME WEIGHT (maintain weight).

OR you consume too many for your body’s needs, use what you need and STORE THE REST, initially as excess fluid, but after 2-3 days as STORED BODY FAT, (gain weight).

When evaluating how much you do actually spend on food in a week to make a comparison with the cost to you whilst on “Howard’s Way” diet, it is necessary to take into account the TRUE COST OF EVERYTHING, (because everything you ate DID have to be paid for)!

Don’t forget the Chocolate bars, packets of Crisps, Sandwiches, Muffins, Bagels; Danish, Soft Drinks, Peanuts, Quick Drink in the Pub, Takeaways, Hamburgers, Biscuits etc. etc.all costly, AND all on top of your recognised food bill!

When you actually calculate your weekly expenditure on these (small expenses) you will most probably have a surprise.

Whilst on the programme you only pay for the food you will eat whilst you are dieting. ALL your support, meetings, handouts etc. ARE INCLUDED IN THIS COST!

When no longer dieting (and you have completed the minimum amount of time on the programme), ongoing weekly support ‘drop ins’ are, to you, FREE!
